Meet Charlie and Boo

Boo and Charles

Great to meet you!

We’re Charlie and Boo, and we’ve called Herefordshire home for over 10 years.

You might already know us from just down the road at Kerne Bridge, where we ran The Paddle - our little fire truck café parked right by the canoe launch.

We spent years serving morning coffee to paddlers and walkers setting off along the River Wye, and chatting with our lovely local regulars.

That small café cemented our passion for hospitality, but we always held onto a shared dream: creating a permanent, welcoming riverside space of our very own.

Our story

For years, our mornings started the exact same way - driving past a historic, derelict property sitting right on the banks of the Wye. We watched it slip further into disrepair, but every single trip past, we couldn't help wondering what it could become again.

When it finally went up for auction in 2024 - derelict, sixteen years empty, and a massive undertaking - our ducks were finally in a row. We took the leap, secured the keys, and got straight to work.

What followed were two full years of intense renovation: stripping it back to its bones, carefully blending modern comforts with traditional charm, and learning the building's secrets step by step. We personally poured our energy into every detail, from selecting local produce for our menus to restoring original stonework.

Stone by stone and room by room, we’ve brought the inn back to life as a place to gather, eat, and stay. After all the dust and hard graft, we were thrilled to finally open our doors and share the Riverside Inn with you.

Come on in and say hello - we're glad you're here!
